  • Ocean athletes know that what we wear has to satisfy two seemingly conflicting needs: keeping us cool if we're working really hard, and keeping us warm by drying quickly.

Faced with that sea-based challenge we scoured the world and discovered the answer in a fabric laboratory in Switzerland: NanoSphere ®, a high-performance technology that repels water, whilst retaining fabric breathability.

So pull on The Lane and hit the water; you'll discover that, while it may have been difficult to create, it simply works. Really well.

Suitable for: Stand-up paddling (SUP), Sailing, Hydro-Foiling, Windsurfing, Kite-surfing, Fishing, Cycling, Hiking, Fitness & almost anything outdoors.

  • How does The Women's Lane Fit?
The Women's Lane fits true to size but ever so slightly closer to the body than the Women's Kanaha Long Sleeved shirt. If you own a Kanaha and it is a close fitting garment for you, we encourage you to order one size up.

Note: The following NEW colors are fitting 3/4 inch longer in the body than the classic (original) colors. The new colors are Hibiscus Pink (Black), Black (White Rock) and Blue Atoll (Rich Navy).

What's the difference between most water shirts and the Bluesmiths shirts?

Most surf shirts absorb water. The Lane and Kanaha repel water and, when they do wet out, they dry incredibly fast.

What is the most common feedback from riders?
Many riders tell us that they're impressed with how the shirts keep them warm when they need to (wind chill is reduced), yet they breathe incredibly well, making them more comfortable when they're working hard.

Do they work for other sports?
Absolutely. They're great for sailing, foiling, windsurfing, kite-surfing, cycling or working out.

    What's NanoSphere?
NanoSphere is the best and most durable Durable Water Repellency (DWR) we have found to date. It's also a BlueSign® approved application. You can learn more about NanoSphere here: Fabric & Technologies
