The Lane: Stay Drier. Stay Protected. Perform Better.
Built to solve the problems of cold, wet rash guards and sun protection shirts, our exclusive hydrophobic (water repellent) shirts stay drier for longer, meaning you’re more comfortable and you perform better - both on and off the water.
We pioneered for ocean sports the use of NanoSphere®, a high-performance fabric technology that repels water, whilst retaining fabric breathability. It’s the best we have tested by far.
Impeccable construction and a tailored fit combine to make The Lane Hydrophobic Shirt one of the most versatile garments available.
Perfect for: Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUP), sailing, boating, kite surfing, wind surfing, canoeing, kayaking. Great for: Mountain biking, as a base layer for snowboarding and skiing, hiking and use in any variable weather conditions.

What's the difference between most water shirts and the Bluesmiths shirts?
Most surf shirts absorb water. The Lane and Kanaha repel water, and when they do wet out, they dry incredibly fast.
What is the most common feedback from riders?
Many riders tell us that they're impressed with how the shirts keep them warm when they need to (wind chill is reduced), yet they breathe incredibly well, making them more comfortable when they're working hard.
Do they work for other sports?
Absolutely. They're great for sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, cycling or working out.
NanoSphere is the best and most durable Durable Water Repellency (DWR) we have found to date. It's also a BlueSign® approved application.
